There is a place in Mt. Shasta, California unlike any other, located in a bird sanctuary at 3,500 ft. at the base of majestic Mount Shasta which rises to 14,162 ft. In the center, of formerly named Strawberry Valley & later Sisson, Mt. Shasta City has a meticulously, restored, Victorian home that was built by Katie Kohn who migrated from Luxembourg in 1888. Next door, we also offer the Spanish home which was built by her daughter, Katie, in 1938. Dream Inn is located 1 block from our main street, Mt. Shasta Blvd., in downtown Mt. Shasta & is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. When you enter the Dream Inn, you will be greeted into a home that is both timeless & timely. Although our bedrock is in the past, we have made a recent step into the future with providing free to our guests, wi-fi internet access for their laptop computers.
There is a strong sense of history to the Victorian home with 5 guests bedrooms. Bedroom # 1 has a king size iron bed, a TV/VCR on cable & a bathroom with a claw foot tub & shower riser. Upstairs bedrooms # 2 - # 5 share 2 bathrooms; one upstairs all in knotty pine, double sink & shower as well as downstairs the bathroom with the original claw foot tub & shower riser. Three of these guest's bedrooms have queen size beds & bedroom # 3 has twins.
Suites # 1 & # 2 are in our Spanish home right next door. Suite # 1 has a California, king size bed, bathroom with shower, a family room with TV/DVD/VCR on cable, stereo system & a dry bar. Suite # 2 has 2 California size, king bedrooms, bath with tub & shower, living room with TV/VCR on cable, dining room & its own full kitchen.
A full, gourmet breakfast is served in the Victorian home between 8:00 & 10:00 AM to all our guests beside the fireplace in the winter & also in the gazebo in the summer.
Open all year, suite # 2 is $160, suite # 1 is $120, bedroom # 1 is $110 & bedrooms # 2 - # 5 are $80 each.
Check in is any time after 1:00 PM & check out is at noon. With cancellation 7 days or more in advance, there is no charge, in less time there is a $40 per room, per day charge. A 10% bed tax goes to the City of Mt. Shasta. All major credit cards are accepted as well as checks & cash. Rates are subject to change.
